And here it is – the final act of my latest painting! As you can see, I added some final brushstrokes for the lips, the ear and the headscarf, and also added the earring at last!

I enjoy how you have cropped the composition in the photo, it gives the painting a totally different feel. I assume your whole painting follows the format of the original.

Thank you very much for your comment, Leonie. Actually I didn’t crop the painting in the photo, it’s exactly as you can see it here, I decided to paint it that way because of the different feel you’ve mentioned. 😊

Even better! I couldn’t quite tell from the photo, so didn’t want to assume. I wonder how a change of format would effect other familiar paintings?

That’s a good question! Maybe we should find out by creating more paintings. 😉

You are already good–on the art path that is yours! Each must follow their own muse. And develop their own vision. Learning this has inspired me so much to keep working. So I share it with you. Thank you, Carol

You are right! And thank you, once again! That´s some great advice and I will stick to it! (Even reminds me a bit of a Joseph Campbell quote I came across not so long ago:) Sarah

Thank you very much, Carol! Coming from such an outstanding artist as you are, that really means a lot to me! And it´s been a real pleasure to explor your blog – it´s giving me a lot of inspiration and I would be very happy indeed, just to be half as good as you are one day:) – Sarah
