I came across this magnificent artificial grotto while walking through the heritage protected “Immanuel Park” near the Lake “Kleiner Wannsee”. This park is part of the Immanuel Hospital and many patients use it early in the morning to do some exercises which is especially important with rheumatic diseases.
Because it started to rain – and because I was really curious 😉 – I went over to get a better look.
This is what it looks inside the grotto…
It looks a bit like the drops you use when you´re building a sand castle on a beach, don´t you think? Only that they used concrete instead 😉
Wish you all a wonderful Sepia Sunday!
Marvelous photo’s again Sarah, XxX

Sarah – the sepia really is a wonderful choice for this photo. i love playing with my pictures and use an Ap called Brushstroke to get effects. Sepia Sunday is quite lovely. Clare

Thank you very much for your lovely compliment, Clare!!! 🙂 I´ve got a passion for early photography which is why I like to do some of my pictures in sepia as well 🙂 It helps focusing the eye on texture and detail, I guess. Have a great day! xoxo

Yes, without the softening of color, black and white, grays and browns do tend to bring out texture. Thank you, Sarah. 🤗

Love the pics, Sarah. The sepia tone lends a mysterious beauty to the place.

Looks like a magical, if slightly scary place.

Thank you, Su! 🙂 It definitely was a little bit scary although early in the day, as I was the only one around in that park that day! The rain didn´t much help either in that situation 😉

The out side looks magnificent indeed. The inside looks a bit running down and a little scary. I am wondering that place is left without maintenance ?

You´re quite right, it´s not very well maintained inside – I also made some pictures in color where this can be better observed (it gains improvement thanks to the sepia!). The whole property undergoes some major renovation work at the moment though, and probably this will be a part of it. xoxo

That sounds good. I like to see it is preserved.
