May Challenge – Happy Mother Goose Day

Lately I have felt a bit low creative-wise. I know this can happen, but I don´t have to like it 😉 That´s why I´ve come up with the idea to challenge myself, to get back on the horse so to speak.

Nearly every day there´s a World Day in appreciation, awareness or commemoration of certain events, people, things and more.

If possible I want to post something (a drawing, painting, photo…) each day in May that is a World Day of some kind. Luckily there are mostly and at least 2 or 3 different options to choose for each day, like today: Labor Day and Mother Goose Day – I chose the latter 😉

  1. This was so precious, Sarah! I had a mother goose who had triplets on my post. 🙂 🙂 I didn’t even know there was a special Mother Goose Day! 🐥🐤🐣 xo hugs Robin 💟

    1. Thank you , Robin! I didn’t either until I took up the challenge and googled each day of the month! But I think it´s a wonderful idea and Mother Goose definitely deserves it! 🙂 Hugs! xoxo 💕

  2. I so love your drawing Sarah. It reminded me so much of children’s book illustrations and I was taken right back to cozy, snuggly days with the boy-child when he was a baby. I love your idea for creative prompts and can’t wait to see more.

    1. Thanks so much, Su! My drawing was indeed inspired by one of my favorite artists, Beatrix Potter, so that perfectly fits with your reminiscence 🙂
You´re very welcome to join my challenge whenever you like 😀 xxxxxx

      1. 🙂 I do love challenges. I need to figure out if I can include music in posts too, since it’s New Zealand Music Month and I thought I’d do something around that.

      2. Can you add any music or “just” NZ music? If there´s no restriction I already have a few ideas! Tomorrow for example is Star Wars Day – the music to these films is just perfect! Or Sherlock Holmes Day on the 22nd – I don´t know if you know the series Sherlock but the theme is awesome too!

      3. I’m going to post NZ music only, but there is no reason you can’t use other music. I just love having music in posts sometimes. 🙂 I get why May 4th is Star Wars day, but I wonder how the 22nd came to be Sherlock Holmes Day?

      4. And I love that you do include it in your post as your taste is awesome and often makes me acquainted with new cool bands I didn’t know before 😄
I don’t have the slightest clue for that – the 22nd is also Maritime Day…

  3. Happy Mother Goose Day! I definitely think you should do this challenge (as someone who is well aware of the different holidays, I know how fun it can be – exhausting and sometimes dangerous when a cat is involved, but fun!).

    1. Thank you, Sarah! Hope you had a lovely Mother Goose Day too! 🙂
I love your ho(w)lidays and am always amazed with the lovely puns and jokes you come up with! Normally I´m that kind of girl who comes home after work to watch the news and find out that today it was actually the … World Day – then it´s of course too late to do anything about it or to celebrate it. But a couple of days ago I finally remembered to google it and voila! There they were! My head was suddenly full of things I could do and I started making a list. But I´m not quite sure if I can go through with it 😉 And if I manage to I will be perfectly glad to leave this endeavor behind after I completed it. It will be funny to see if we two create any overlappings 😉 May I add your link if that happens? Have a lovely World Asthma Day! 😉

      1. I hope you do finish it – and feel free to link up with anything we post!

I don’t know if it will help you, but I actually have a calendar solely for the Howlidays posts – I print it out near the end of the previous month, then fill in holidays for each day I think would be fun to celebrate. That gives me a choice as the day approaches, depending on what costumes I have or jokes I think of. It has worked great for me for about a year now, so I figured I would share in case it’s something that could help you!

      2. I hope so too! 🙂
Thanks so much for your lovely help and advice! This sounds so much more organized than what I have come up with 😉 I will follow your lead then!
Tell me, are you planning something lovely for tomorrow (Star Wars)? I would looove to link up to that! 😀
        Have a wonderful day!

    1. Thank you very much, Divya! 🙂 It´s sometimes not enough to just patiently wait for those muses to come around and kiss you 😉 Also being part sloth I need to challenge myself from time to time 😉
Lovely to see you back, hope everything is fine and that you enjoy a beautiful spring! Have a happy and creative week, my friend! 🙂 xoxo ❤

  5. I’m with you … Mother Goose all the way! I adore this image of the bustling mummy with her clutch of goslings …. I too am suffering creatively. Stuck stuck stuck or bouchonner as the French would have it … corked! So I will consider your challenge and see if I can bring anything to the picnic. At least I can try …. xxxx

    1. Thank you so much, Osyth! 🙂 And I would love if you want to join me in this challenge! Whenever you feel like it and no pressure! It´s funny though how a little pressure from myself seems to help in this case of lost creativity, I´m spilling over with ideas and struggle to keep up with them 🙂 xxxxxxxx
