Apologies

Hello dear friends and fellow-bloggers!

I need to apologize for my sudden and unannounced disappearance from the blogosphere a month ago.

Most of you know that I had some trouble with inflamed arm tendons already a few weeks before that, and it is exactly this condition that led to my unplanned absence. The inflammation had reached a state in which it was literally not possible for me to do anything at all – I couldn´t hold a book, draw or write, I had even trouble holding a fork or a spoon to feed myself! My arms below the elbow had swollen quite grotesquely too, and Phil, who you know among others as the narrator of my Count Harecula stories, very accurately called me „Popeye“ in reply to my last email, when I mentioned it to him 😉

I also need to apologize for not replying to all the lovely and wonderful comments that I have received in these past weeks – I felt horrible not answering but it really wasn´t possible. I was under strict orders not to do anything at all – let me tell you it was one of the most boring periods of time I ever had to endure. I was only able to lie down and watch tv or listen to an audiobook – and that for several weeks! I relied on fast food only, not being able to cook or bake, and it was just ghastly! Although I have to admit of course, that I´m immensely grateful that there is such a thing called fast food – all these cup noodles, cans of soup and frozen meals were the only things I could manage to prepare.

22nd of May – Sherlock Holmes Day: This painted mug should originally have been part of my May challenge – the one where I planned to create something artsy for each of the international Appreciation Days. As you might be able to tell, it´s a Silhouette of the actor Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock. Although it´s over now, I wanted to show it to you anyway and not wait till next year 😉

I am now slowly trying to pick up my life from where I have left it, and am going to reply to all your messages soon, though maybe only one at a time as I don´t want risk a new inflammation.

I can´t even begin to tell you how much I missed you all during this time – and I´m looking so much forward to catch up with all of your lovely blogs! It will take time though. And if new signs of inflammation are going to appear, I will instantly have to get off the grid again – but I really hope this won´t be the case!

Hope you are all well and enjoy a beautiful summer/winter!

Love, Sarah

    1. Hi Shay-lon!!! How are you? I hope your busy being successful 😉 I apologize too for not stopping by your blog – sometimes it can be that way with blogging, right? But it’s even more wonderful to hear from just because of that 😄

      1. Yes,
It does happen quite often when blogging, especially the more folks you meet and follow. Although it is good to catch up with a blogger that you haven’t spoken to in awhile. I have been busy, I like to think that it will lead to me some kind of success..but I have been decent – good and bad days.

How have you been? anything new going on with you or blogging?
I hope you had a wonderful Fourth of July 🙂

      2. Hi Shay-lon!
These past months have been a bit challenging for me, lots of medical issues, like severe inflammation of the arm tendons etc. That took of course its toll on blogging too. But now it´s much better – or at least I hope so 😉
I´m busy preparing a little exhibition of my pottery class´efforts at the school where I´m teaching it, the term is about to end and there´s still so much to do! But the holidays aren´t far anymore and that´s what I look forward to!
        Wish you a perfect weekend!
        Sarah 🙂

P.S. Just posted the award!!! Thank you again for nominating me! 😀

      3. Sarah,
I am late in reading this and commenting on your award, thank you for finding time to do it, although I wouldn’t have held it against you if you had not.
I am glad that the medical issues for now have subsided, and I hope they don’t arise again – sorry to hear you had to go through that in the first place. It is good to see you blogging again and able to stick with it through your busy lifestyle – that keeps me motivated in itself to see others just as busy still making time for their blogs. It can be tough but we have proven to still be here after so long of writing on good and bad days. I don’t think I could give up blogging but I have noticed I have been behind on blogging quite often, I suppose the summer keeps me busy and on my toes.
Nice to hear from you again. have a wonderful Monday.

      4. Hi Shay-lon!
No worries about replying late – I´ve kind of become the Queen of late replies myself 😉
I´m glad that you manage to blog on a regular kind of basis too, it sure is difficult sometimes, and I´ve had to reduce the amount of time I spend here in order not to let all my other stuff get down the drainpipe but I also don´t think that I would give it up entirely. It´s just too nice to know and talk to people like you 😀
        Keep blogging! 🙂
        Have a lovely weekend! xxx

  2. In my book, there is nothing a great cup of tea and a beautiful mug can’t fix (or at least make slightly better, even for a moment). Happy to hear you are feeling better and sending many well wishes your way!

    1. Thanks so much, Dead Donovan! 🙂 You´re the only one that seems to have noticed the mug at all, haha! 😀 I think I will try to make more for Christmas to give friends as a present. Have a lovely weekend! 😘

      1. Thanks! 🙂 But I don´t think they feel the same about it 😉 I daresay they don´t like getting anymore of my selfmate stuff and would prefer something bought 😉

    1. Thanks so much, Jo Nell! It´s good to be back, I never thought I would miss blogging as much as I did. And don´t feel bad for not blogging regularly, as lovely as the blogging world can be, the real one is to be preferred always, and to go out there and enjoy it is the best thing we can do! Thanks for the good wishes and I wish you a beautiful weekend and a perfect summer! 🙂

  5. Dear Sarah,
I’m so glad to see you’re back. But I’m terribly sorry hear about the arm tendons. I’ve had something a bit similar though not as intense. So take your time…hey time is something you have, right? No problem. I hope my comment from a few weeks back bring a smile to your face. We missed you…and Count Harecula! So far as a reply…no rush, okay? okay.

Get well and get strong! I’m sending some positive vibes to help out! 🙂

    1. Dear Paul,
thank you so much for your wonderful comment and I´m so sorry that you had to suffer from something similar – it´s always awful but especially for writers, I believe.
And I did sooooo much enjoy your awesome comment from a few weeks ago – it was one of the nicest things ever said to me, in real life as well as in the virtual one! 😀
Hope everything is well with you and I look so much forward to visit your blog soon!

  8. I am glad that you have taken the time to mend yourself. Sometimes we really have to listen to our bodies and this was one of those moments. Take your time and look after yourself, I am just very very happy that you are reasonably healed and send you a big beam of sunshine from Grenoble which is looking picture perfect with clear blue skies and still a little snow on the mountains xxxx

    1. Thank you, Osyth! There was no way around that break, I know that now. I tried to ignore this condition and that just backfired on me. I really have to learn to listen to my body more closely, this was a much needed lesson I think.
I hope everything is more than well with you and your loves ones and that you enjoy a beautiful summer! Grenoble is just the perfect place for that by the sound of it!
Have a wonderful weekend! Much love! xxxxxxx

  9. Oh Sarah, I’m so sorry to hear this! Sending many hugs your way! I can imagine the pain and boredom you mentioned… but sometimes a break like this can do wonders for the mind. ( sorry just trying to look at it differently because my husband was bed ridden after an ankle fracture & surgery a while back & I was forced to see the positive side of things). I really hope you relaxed & I missed you & praying for you to heal soon so that you can enthrall us all with your beautiful art! Also eager to see your baking ❤️
    Much love😘😘😘

    1. Many thanks, Divya! I missed you too!! 🙂 Hope everything is well your end? Hope your husband is better now, an ankle fracture sounds horrible! It must have been a tough time for him to stay in bed most of the time I imagine. And I know what you mean with that break for the mind – the first few days were simply nasty, but after a week I totally got used to not use the internet at all and kind of used the time to concentrate on other stuff – like ideas for more art projects 😉 Although it was very boring it was relaxing as well, kind of having holidays for that busy mind of mine 😉 But I´m looking forward to actually do something again! I´m so not good at being lazy all the time 😀
Wish you a splendid weekend and a gorgeous summer! Much love! 🙂 ❤ 😘

  10. I stopped apologizing for the need to be away for awhile. It’s just what happens sometime. I am glad to hear you are on the mend. I know how much I miss those connections as well. I spend more time reading other blogs and commenting than writing my own. Others are so much more interesting. 🙂 Keep taking care of yourself.

    1. Thanks so much for your kind and caring words, Marlene! I think I will have to adopt your way of handling situations like this, it sounds much more reasonable than too worry all the time. I can´t even begin to tell you how much I missed reading all your blogs – much more than doing anything myself really! And I agree – I always find other blogs more interesting than my own 😉 Wish you a beautiful weekend! ❤
