7 Days B/W Photo Challenge – Street Photography: Day 6

In honour of my 3rd blog anniversary this week, I´ve created a new Photo Challenge and hope that you will all join me!

And here are the rules of the “7 Days B/W Photo Challenge – Street Photography”:

  • Thank the person who´s nominated/tagged you and provide a link to their blog.
  •  Go out and take pictures of complete strangers for 7 days in a row and post one of them each day of the challenge (you can also post 7 photos in one post if you´re more comfortable with this).
  • The photos should be in b/w.
  • Nominate as many people as you like

This photo is my 6th entry:

  1. I enjoyed so much – but I am realizing that another perk of your street shots has to do with sharing culture and parts of your world in a way some of us will never see otherwise.

    1. I had to go back because reading chatty kerry’s comment was like “what?”
I was so engrossed with the reading girl with the quiet Hopper vibe that i did not make it to the back talkers…
and even more enrichment here – nice shot Sarah

  2. So many stories in this photo. The blond woman engrossed by her book, the two women in the background engrossed by their conversation, and the bicyclists on the street unaware of any of it. The sleek sheen of the car contrasted with the clutter of the parked bikes and the wooden loneliness of the singular chair. And overall, an impression of intense personal introspection while the world whizzes by. Very well done, Sarah.

  3. Another reader. And another beautiful shot. I love that you have captured this solitary woman engrossed i. Her book, with the two women together behind. It is such a powerful image with so many narrative possibilities. Brilliantly captured my dear friend — this is art! xxxxxxx 😀

    1. Aww – thanks so much, Su! When I walked by that scene I knew I had to risk a photo but only had one shot because I didn’t want her to look up – it worked!! 😄 I come to like the art of street photography more and more, one feels a bit like a spy. 😉 xxxxxxxx

    1. Thank you! Yes, it was two stories for the price of one. 😉 I only noticed the pair of girls in the background when I edited the shot and was very happy about it. 😊

  4. So pensive the girl reading her book, so intent the two women forehead to forehead as they share some special secret. This might be my favourite of all so far …. xxxxxxxxxx
