  1. I am not getting your posts in my reader, so apologies for being so random in seeing them.
Wonderful photos; particularly in b&w. I love old cars, and have never seen one quite like this. I used to drive a Morris Minor, and then a Mini, and I coveted a Daimler Dart (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daimler_SP250). But these days, I prefer comfort and reliability and safety features like airbags and ABS. Sigh 🙂

    1. No worries, Su. 😉
That Daimler Dart looks spectacular!! I want one!! 😄
But you’re right about safety first, I really love the old Minis but the new ones are actually to be preferred in terms of safety because of airbags and such. Sigh indeed. 😉

      1. I haven’t been in one of the new Minis. Even the name seems wrong when you see how big they are compared to the originals. But. Guess that’s the price of safety — or perhaps they’ve just been super-sized because people unconsciously associate bigger with better.

      2. I was thinking exactly the same thing – they should start renaming their cars!! Mini?! I don´t get it anymore. 😉 And yes, too many people seem to confuse bigger with better.

    1. It is cute, isn´t it? I´d love one of these, or an old Mini Cooper. And so lovely to see you around on my blog, Inese – I appreciate your visit a lot!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  2. Great pic, Sarah. I like the design and the graphic lines of this Volvo oldtimer. You captured her beauty perfectly. I also like the movement created by the presence of the man carrying boxes in the background. I’m very happy to hear that you’re getting better mon amie. I was worried about you. I am a little reassured now. By the way, your new photo is superb. Wow, you are BEAUTIFUL !!!! Keep well.

    1. Thanks so much, Dominique! I have to admit I wish all cars would still look the ones back in the 60´s or even earlier like 1920 and so on. But I´m an old romantic. 😉 Safety standards are much better now of course.
And thank you also for liking my new avatar photo. 😀 ❤ xoxoxo

  3. I’ve always loved old cars but know very little about them. My first car was a ’51 Studebaker I bought it from a neighbor boy that I ended up marrying. Our first date was an antique car show. We didn’t have many Volvo’s in the states all those years ago. That one is beautiful.

    1. Thank you, Marlene! I just had a look online at the ’51 Studebaker – what a beauty! They don’t make cars like this anymore. And how wonderful you ended up marrying the boy who sold you the car! Stories like yours make me smile.Thank you for sharing it! 😊

    1. They do evoke a sense of nostalgia, don’t they? As much as modern cars provide better security they often lack the beautiful designs the old ones had. It would be nice if someone made the effort to combine these two. ☺

    1. It is all that, isn’t it? Wish I had a car like this, but then I’m more or less a bike kind of girl which is better for the environment anyway. 😄
Thanks for stopping by, Shari! Have a wonderful Sunday!
