It’s A Beautiful Day – 30 Days 30 Songs

Today’s the second day of my new blog challenge, where I want to share with you some of my very favourite songs for the whole month of June:

30 Days – 30 Songs!

The following song was dificult to pick because U2 are one of my most favourite bands ever, and choosing just One ( πŸ˜‰ ) was a nearly impossible thing to do.

However I finally decided on “Beautiful Day” because it’s one of those songs that really says it all.

And to show you how very much I love this band – here’s a handmade bag and clay button that I made in my teens and that I’m going to carry around again now that I’ve burrowed it out for you this morning to take a picture from! πŸ˜€

  1. Well, my most memorable U2 moment was at the annual talent show at York Academy in Shacklefords, Virginia some time in the ’80s when a girl named Melissa lip-synched to “With or Without You” and then hurled herself off the stage into the arms of her boyfriend. Horrified gasps all the way around.

    1. Wow! What a great moment to witness! And I love “With or Without You”!!! No lip-synch for me though – I’m singing it loud (and probably off-key πŸ˜‰ ) whenever I happen to hear it. πŸ˜€

  2. I love that song, too! And it’s funny that you had a jeans bag from the 90s, because those were also popular when I was in high school in the (ahem) 70’s. I guess something fun like that never goes out of style!

      1. One of the best group, and one of the best concerts I have ever seen. I cried happy tears, like a little kid πŸ˜…
Happy Monday, Sarah!! Thanks for making me recall that wonderful day 😘

    1. Thanks so much, Su! Wish I had U2 on my radar back then – they were in Berlin!! πŸ˜‚ But I guess I was too small to notice and wouldn’t have been allowed to any of their gigs anyway. πŸ˜‰
Really love their early work too!!

  3. I love this band and the song. What a great choice, just so much fun, full of promise and all the excitement of being young. I’ve never seen the video so this was fun for me. And that bag – how original! – how many of your friends begged you to make one for them?

    1. Yay! How wonderful that you love this band and this song too, Shari! πŸ˜„ It’s a pretty good video, I think. I used to watch MTV all the time back then. πŸ˜„
I really loved that bag and have aired it now so I can carry it around tomorrow – will probably make me feel like a teen again! πŸ˜„

  4. I am also a huge fan of U2. I saw them in concert in Montreal in 1988. That tells you a bit about my age. Lol. One of the best concerts I’ve seen. Your handmade bag and button are really cute. You must have been a big hit at school.

    1. Yay! We do have a lot in common, don’t we? πŸ˜‰ And I totally envy you – a concert in 1988, that must have been so cool (and also affordable, do you know what the tickets cost now? You don’t want to know, trust me! πŸ˜‚).
The bag has been aired now and is ready to go for tomorrow! πŸ˜„
