As promised here comes another one of my unfinished paintings!   This time I was inspired by a photo of three alpacas taken by my dear friend Su from over at Zimmerbitch. The photo in question was made a couple of years ago and she also edited it with Snapseed and Photolab apps toContinue reading “Unfinished Paintings – The Three Alpacas”

Unfinished paintings – The Wanderer above the Sea of Fog

In the days of social media it’s far too easy to appear like you’re perfect – just use the right filters, always smile like you’re happy and find the perfect spot to do a selfie, right? Since I know all too well that I’m anything but perfect, I thought I’d do this little seriesContinue reading “Unfinished paintings – The Wanderer above the Sea of Fog”

Acrylic Pouring No. 4

A few months back, I started experimenting with a new painting technique called acrylic pouring (if you´ve missed my first acrylic pouring painting click here). It’s been a lot of fun, although I do have slight problems with the unpredictability of the whole process. As soon as you let go of the paint itContinue reading “Acrylic Pouring No. 4”

In this post however, I want to draw attention to a maybe less known species of eagles, the Isidor´s Eagle, alsoContinue reading “Isidor´s Eagle”

A Tui From New Zealand

In one of my latest post  (Golden Flicker), my dear friend Su from over at Zimmerbitch and I had a little chat about New Zealand´s national bird – the kiwi – and how she would prefer another one as such, since the kiwi is not only nocturnal but also flightless which contributes to itContinue reading “A Tui From New Zealand”

A Surprising Encounter

Over 3.5 million people and a few thousand foxes live in Berlin, and supposedly the latter can be seen just about everywhere but so far I only ever saw one single fox. It was a couple of years back when I was on my way back home after a late course at uni.Continue reading “A Surprising Encounter”

Red-tailed Comet

The Red-tailed Comet (Sappho sparganurus) is a medium-sized hummingbird. This species of hummingbird can be found in the Central Andes of Bolivia and Argentina, in Chile and in Peru. The genus name refers to Sappho, an ancient Greek poet of Lesbos. The species name sparganus derives from the Greek words σπαργανόω and ουρά, meaning “decorated tail”. In at least part ofContinue reading “Red-tailed Comet”
