  1. I forgot to mention your talent with the brush in my previous message. You have an incredible talent for communicating emotions, and I love the light and shadows in your drawings and paintings. Looking forward to see more.

  2. Sarah, I must not have been following you yet when you posted these drawings so when the image for this post popped up on your site, I had to take a look. And what a treat to see your lovely drawings. You capture the essence of your subjects with grace, even the studies of facial features. You don’t overwork them and you care about each, showing the wit and whimsy of the little creatures or emotion of people. It’s a treat to have come across this page today. Hope this lifts your spirits.

    1. Aww – thank you so much, Shari! You most definitely lifted my spirits with this wonderful comment! I hope I will find the time for more drawings now, as I yearn to use my pencils again and do some facial studies. IĀ“ve always dreamed of doing portraits, but theyĀ“re so damn difficult to make! I started working on one of Sean Connery – my mum has a soft spot for him;) – this summer, but it sure looks like his second cousin or something and not like him! šŸ˜€ Ah, well, at least this way I have always something to aim for. šŸ™‚

  4. These are all excellent, Sarah. Wow, I’m in awe of your skill and talent. It’s hard to choose a favorite, but the “lying in wait” and the scene from Dirty Dancing (my husband’s and my favorite) popped out. But they’re all fantastic! šŸŽØā¤

    1. Thank you so much, Lauren! šŸ˜€
Dirty Dancing is one of my all-time favorite movies and I regularly dance around in my kitchen listening to the soundtrack šŸ˜‰ Not sure if that improves the cooking though! šŸ˜€ ā¤

  5. Wow, what for nice drawings. I like them. Yeah, Dirty Dancing, I had to smile. One of my favorite movies from long time ago … Thanks for following my art magazine sl4artglobal. Very happy about. I am not an artist, I am just writing about those fascinating personalities … šŸ˜‰ Have a wonderful weekend, Sarah!

  6. I should begin this with a disclaimer. I can barely draw a pay cheque so when it comes to art I’m no… Van Gogh? But some of of these are, to my non expert eye, tremendously good. One of them even appears to feature Margaret Rutherford, the best Miss Marple in the business! And your modesty is a wonderful trait, Sarah. Well done to you šŸ™‚

    1. Oh, thank you so very much, Phil! šŸ™‚
You donĀ“t know how happy your comment makes me! šŸ˜€
And youĀ“re absolutely spot on – it is a sketch of the incomparable Margaret Rutherford!! I adore her so much, and think that she was the best Miss Marple even if Mrs Christie didnĀ“t like her.
Wish you a tremendously wonderful day!! šŸ™‚

      1. Pah! What did Mrs Christie know. Apart from how to write a good murder mystery that is.
I accept your kind wish, Sarah and raise you a tremendously wonderful rest of the week šŸ™‚

      1. Oh Sarah, you really are so thankful and generous. I also was amazed by your works, made on a style that I admire and maybe I envy. You sketch with ease. Your visits are a true proud for this blog. Best wishes Sarah.

      2. Oh, my! Now IĀ“m blushing!:) Really, thereĀ“s absolutely no need for you to envy my style in the sligthest! IĀ“m not even really sure, if IĀ“ve got one. But IĀ“m very happy that you like what you see and hope to improve. Best wishes, too!

      3. Sarah, listen, I returned to watch your drawings and have been back to see the details, because I do not like telling lies. I confirm that you have a very artistic look and this is revealed in your strokes. But tonight I have no more time to expose more details. It happens that talent is accompanied by modesty, precisely because who does a work, makes it naturally and that’s why the success. Here in Barcelona is too late, I need to go to sleep, but first I want to thank you for your kind response. Congratulations darling!
