I can feel that summer is coming to an end here in the northern hemisphere. It seems to come earlier each year and instead of gently drifting of to autumn it will be winter all of a sudden, at least that´s what happened in the last years and I don´t have reason to believeContinue reading “Summer Companions”

Iris Day
Happy – Belated – Iris Day! I hope you had a lovely Iris Day yesterday! I´m sorry for not posting this accordingly but I´m currently having a bit of trouble with inflamed arm tendons and might skip a day or two this week of my self-imposed challenge in order to rest my arms aContinue reading “Iris Day”
Magnolia Dreams… and Matcha-Cheesecake
I wish you all a magnificent, peaceful and Happy Easter! 🐣 🐰 Last Monday – the last warm day before it got cold again 😉 – I went with my mum on a beautiful walk to enjoy the sun and get some much needed exercise. It was quite stormy though and the wind was whippingContinue reading “Magnolia Dreams… and Matcha-Cheesecake”
A Day at the Zoo – part 1
Now that the days are getting brighter and longer, I´m up again for wandering around. At the end of March we had very nice and warm weather (not so much now – it´s like winter has come back to show us that he´s not a sissy), and as I own an annual ticket forContinue reading “A Day at the Zoo – part 1”
Fallen Tree
Although this tree, stripped entirely of its bark, no longer lies across the road that you can glimpse in the upper left corner, it reminded me on this poem by Robert Frost. On a Tree Fallen Across the Road The Tree the tempest with a crash of wood Throws down inContinue reading “Fallen Tree”
Sepia Spell – Frowning Lion
This beautiful carved lion just caught my eye and begged me to take a picture of him… of course I was only too eager to fulfill his wish 😉 Wishing you all a very beautiful and lovely week! xxx
Squirrels, Squirrels, Squirrels!
To be perfectly honest with you – I just looooove squirrels! 🙂 Near to where I´m living is a huge park where I can watch these sweet little climbing artists running up and down the trees, trying to catch one another. As I´m sure you know, now´s the time that squirrels are really busyContinue reading “Squirrels, Squirrels, Squirrels!”
Sepia Spell -Stairway to Heaven
Okay, okay… I admit, this is n o t the actual stairway to heaven, b u t in my mind it´s pretty close to it 😉 As it is, these steps are leading up to the second floor of the Old National Gallery outside the building. The Old National Gallery is situated onContinue reading “Sepia Spell -Stairway to Heaven”
Sepia Spell: The Cathedral
As promised, I´m showing you this time the Berlin Cathedral (short for: Evangelical Supreme Parish and Collegiate Church) as it can be seen from the Friedrichs Bridge. I decided to lie on the floor to give you a sense of the bridge´s width too, which really is quite impressive especially since it´s onlyContinue reading “Sepia Spell: The Cathedral”
Sepia Spell – Friedrichs Bridge
The Friedrichs Bridge is one of my favourite bridges in Berlin. It has been built in 1703 and restored in the last years and serves now solely as a pedestrian bridge in Berlin Mitte. It crosses the Spree and connects the mainland to the Museum Island – one of my favourite places in Berlin 🙂Continue reading “Sepia Spell – Friedrichs Bridge”
