Day 20 of my new blog challenge –
Share Your Music! 30 Days 30 Songs!
Please feel free to join my anytime you like – casusal players welcome! 😉
Kate Nash is an English singer-songwriter and actress, activist and supporter of LGBT rights.
And since the month of June was chosen for LGBT Pride Month to commemorate the riots held by members of the LGBT community against a police raid that took place at the Stonewall Inn in New York City on June 28, 1969, I thought it only appropriate to chose one of her songs to draw attention to it.
I dare predict that you won’t be able to stop yourself from nodding your head off whilst listening to the following song. 😉
Here is todays contribution Sarah

It really is, isn’t it? 😀 Love the line “I’ll read a book instead” – kind of my mantra, lol! 😀

Very catchy! I’ll just read a book instead . . .

This is so cool. I’d never heard of Kate Nash. I’ve checked out a few of her songs now, so thank you again my friend for introducing me to new music.

You’re very welcome! So glad you enjoy her music! 😀 She was brought to my attention because at the time I was considering applying at the Old Vic in Bristol as well. Never made it though. She applied but was turned down. Found her own way instead which might be even better. 😀

I didn’t know that. What made you change your mind?

Ah – life I suppose. And the realization that my German accent – no matter how hard I work on it – would have probably made them turn me down anyway. It was a lovely dream to dream though. 🙂

That is sad. We are so alike in seeing “practical” impediments to our dreams. Perhaps we should become each other’s cheerleaders to provide the voice that says “go ahead and try.”

I say yes to cheerleading each other! Y – E – S! Yes! 😄 (Why isn’t there a cheerleading emoji?! 😂)

Awesome!!
You’re right about the emoji lack. I hadn’t really checked emojis out before — so many, but no cheerleaders. 🤨

Hehe! I was hoping for some pom-poms (?) emoji, but no luck. Maybe we would have to come up with our own and earn some serious money with it! LOL! 😀

I think you have the talent to produce emoji. Me, not so much 🙂

Not really since I think it involves code writing or some such thing. But a friend of mine does. I will ask her if she can come up with something! 😀

Doh! Of course it is code; I hadn’t thought of that.

I had never heard this song before. Love it! The history about the LGBT Pride Month is something I did know. Great song choice, Sarah.

Ha ha ha. I saw the title and confused this with 1950’s Doo-Wop music.

Thanks, Chris! 😀 It’s tropically hot here, no sea though which puts quite a damper to my mood – lol! 😀

It’s hard to do things when it’s hot and humid. Eat ice cream and stat hydrated.

Best advice ever – about the ice cream. 😉 I try to get as many things done as possible before it gets too hot and then just take it easy. 🙂
