My wonderful friend Dominique over at 3C Style has tagged me in the Seven Days Photo Challenge!
Thanks so much, Dominique – I just love taking pictures! 🙂
The rules are:
Seven days. Seven black and white photos of your life. No people. No explanations. Challenge someone new each day.
Because of my love for Sepia, I can´t promise to only share B/W pics but since it´s monochrome either way, I hope you won´t mind. 😉 And I might even add the color version of some shots – I know: what a rebel, eh? 😂
And instead of challenging someone new each day, I want all of you who are interested in this challenge to take it up and join us having fun!
You’ve captured the agelessness and sadness that angel sculptures tend to hold for me … beautiful!

Thanks so much, Ju-Lyn! I love angel sculptures and luckily there are quite a lot to be admired here in Berlin. I think I will someday make a blog series out of them and calling it Angels of Berlin. 😉

I look forward to viewing that series!!!!

Thank you so much! Sepia is perfect for adding mood, isn´t it? Although I know that I was bending the rules in this B/W challenge. 😉

Gorgeous photo! Personally, I’ve always found old cemeteries sort of peaceful, and that statue certainly is.

Thank you so much, Ann! Nowadays I also find them peaceful – more than our public parks! – but was scared of them.

We used to have these angels in Ukrainian cemetery and this statue made me contemplate and reminisce of the very quite place I visited as a child, although its beautiful

Thank you very much for your lovely comment and visit, Luda! I can imagine that the angels in Ukrainian cemeteries look very beautiful although I´ve never been there. When I was a child I was terriefied of cemeteries, and discovered the beauty to be found there much later.
Have a lovely day! 🙂

This is lovely Sarah. I am fascinated by angel statues (Dr Who’s Weeping Angels notwithstanding), and this one is so melancholy and beautiful.

Thanks a lot, Su! I´m also fascinated by them which is one reason more why I love wandering around cemeteries. I´ve quite a lot of pictures already but never know how or when I should/can share them. Maybe I should start a series about Angels in Berlin or something like it. 😉 xxxxxxx

Wings of Desire!!! I don’t know if you know the Wim Wenders film, but that was the first thing I thought of when you said Angels in Berlin. I love that film, and it’s probably the impetus for my angel fascination.
Angels are quite rare on grave monuments here, so I am always thrilled to find one. xxxxxxx

No, I don’t think I’ve watched it yet but am putting it right away to my ever growing list! I wonder why angels are so rare on grave monuments in NZ? Do you know? xxxxxxx

That is really lovely. Are the flowers on the left part of the sculpture, or are they for real?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Thank you, Tracy! The flowers are part of the statue but it would be really lovely if they were for real!

It was a little difficult to work out, but they seemed a much bigger version of the flower in her hand. The statue blends so well with the landscape in those sepia tones.

Oh, now I get it! I thought you were referring to those in her hands. No, the other ones are for real! Rhododendron I think, while she’s holding a rose. 😊
