My wonderful friend Dominique over at 3C Style has tagged me in the Seven Days Photo Challenge!
Thanks so much, Dominique – I just love taking pictures! 🙂
The rules are:
Seven days. Seven black and white photos of your life. No people. No explanations. Challenge someone new each day.
Because of my love for Sepia, I can´t promise to only share B/W pics but since it´s monochrome either way, I hope you won´t mind. 😉 And I might even add the color version of some shots – I know: what a rebel, eh? 😂
And instead of challenging someone new each day, I want all of you who are interested in this challenge to take it up and join us having fun!
These are beautiful! I especially love the color. 🙂

Both are great shots, Sarah! I like the color better though because of the detail it adds for the fruit, which would be the same for veggies. Some things are fine in black and white, while others’ vibrant colors are better for showing. This is only my opinion, as I know nothing about painting. 🙂 But both are amazing, as always! Hugs 💗🍉🍊🍍🍓🍑😊

This is exactly what I feel about b/w pics too, Lauren! Architecture, people and sometimes even landscapes work very well with it but fruits and flowers have so lovely colours it would be a shame not to show the which is why I added the color version as well. 😉 Thank you so much for your wonderful comment dear friend! 😄💖

This one is so interesting. The B&W one takes on a metallic look. Both photos are beautiful.

Great shot in b&w and colour Sarah. Your pomegranates look quite different to the American ones we get. xxxxxxx

Thanks a lot, Su! Now I’m curious about how yours look like! 😉 xxxxxx

Pomegranates are one of my favorite fruits, because of their taste, symbolism, nutritional value, and extraordinary beauty. I loved the B&W version until I saw the color image and now I adore this one. Did you alter or enhance the color photo or are these the fruit as they appear? You’re an excellent photographer and this challenge is fun.

Thank you very much for your compliment about my photographing skills, Shari! And no, no alterations or enhancements on the color photo! I thought it was quite good as it was and was very lucky with the afternoon light. 😊
And I share your love for these fruits – so historical, healthy and delicious all at the same time! 😄

These are beautiful, Sarah! I’m curious, which do you prefer?

Thank you so much, Jill! I actually prefer the colour version of this shot and although I’m already bending the rules a little in this challenge I decided not to break them completely and added the b/w one. 😉 Which do you prefer? 💕

I prefer the color shot, too. 🙂

Taking the Colour out of pictures gives a world of new dimensions to it. Somehow the texture is more intense. As still lives these are both stunning xxxxxxxxxx

Thank you so much, Fiona! And I totally agree – b/w shots do indeed accentuate texture much better and can sometimes make them appear more dramatic then they actually are. Xxxxxxxxx

You have encouraged me to spend an hour editing some of the weekend’s shots into b/w and/or sepia. The drama is definitely enhanced xxxxxxxx

Lovely study – each version with its own qualities.

Thank you, Tish! It’s interesting to see what’s highlighted when you change the filters, isn’t it? Maybe I will paint this still life but then I would opt for colour. 😉

What a great shot! This time my heart goes for the colour one. I would love to get information about this peculiar plant. So beautiful.

Thank you so much, Dominique! I actually prefer the colour version too. 😉 These are fruits from a decorative pomegranate tree, they are lovely to look at but sadly are quite bitter and sour. Xxx 😄💕

Beautiful but bitter and sour. Ah, can’t have it all, hein? Love the pics though and thanks for the information. xoxo

I love seeing the difference in these two. The b&w–more abstract despite being a photo. I didn’t really know what I was looking at until I saw the other. But, it opens the door to imagination doesnt it?

Hehe! I think it’s great that you didn’t know at first what you were looking at. 😉 Those are the photos I often find the most intriguing. And you’re so right about it opening doors to imagination! 😄
