In honour of my 3rd blog anniversary this week, I´ve created a new Photo Challenge and hope that you will all join me!

 

And here are the rules of the “7 Days B/W Photo Challenge – Street Photography”:

  • Thank the person who´s nominated/tagged you and provide a link to their blog.
  •  Go out and take pictures of complete strangers for 7 days in a row and post one of them each day of the challenge (you can also post 7 photos in one post if you´re more comfortable with this).
  • The photos should be in b/w.
  • Nominate as many people as you like

  5. Whenever I think of Van Gogh, I remember Sister Wendy, the way she pronounced his name, and her passion for art and history. I definitely learned a lot about art from her. My students loved learning about Van Gogh.

    1. Thanks a lot, Su! Do you also wonder what he was reading?! 😉 I was just so glad it wasn´t a phone he was looking at – the more street photography I do, the more I notice that most people seem to have abondend books and the like, a shame really. xxxxxxx 🙂

    1. He was very intent on his paper and I have to admit I was so happy that it wasn´t a phone which nowadays is more likely. B&W does give pictures a different feel, doesn´t it?

      1. I haven’t read a newspaper in almost 20 years. My last husband was allergic to the chemicals in them. You do miss the feel of them. Hate cutting down trees for them now that I understand.

      2. I mostly get my news via internet or radio nowadays but on occasion I buy a newspaper like when you’re travelling. It’s indeed a nice feeling but I guess print media will sooner or later vanish all together.

  14. Sarah, this is charming. Reminds of the Van Gogh painting of the cafe. I know his painting was at night, but there’s a similarity of point of view. Love that you captured this old gentleman wrapped in his scarf, reading his magazine.

    1. Thanks so much, Shari! And wow! Do you know how much I love this particular Van Gogh painting you´ve mentioned? I used to have a print of it above my bed when I was a teenager. 🙂 So, so glad this photo reminded you of it!
