    1. Thank you! I´m so sorry I didn´t nominate you – I really wanted to but as one should only nomiate 11 blogs I thought I just went chronologically with the blogs I know 😦 I hope you don´t mind?? If I should ever get nominated again, and if you´re still interested – I´m defintely going to do it next time! Sarah

  1. I enjoyed reading your award and learning more about you. I most regretfully decline the acceptance of the award you nominated me for, as you know it took a lot of time to not only answer the questions but also develop your own great questions and list of nominees. Although I do meet the criteria of under 200 followers, I’ve decided to spend my limited online time reading all the lovely blogs I’ve found and trying to post more regularly with all the things in my mind that I want to share.

    1. Thank you! It´s was certainly a challenge to answer these questions and come up with some extra facts about me:) I´m glad it was worth the effort, but I can totally understand if you don´t want to do it – it really does take up a lot of time;)

      1. I do…Actually, many museums here can be rented out after hours for functions. At the beginning of Dan Brown’s DaVinci Code, the protagonist gets to go into the Louvre after hours. I am always a bit envious.

      2. That´s sounds wonderful!
Ahh – Dan Brown – he really got it right with the Da Vinci Code! What a marvellously exciting book it is – to be honest: I´ve read it at least three times;)
Robert Langdon is such a lucky guy;)

      3. He is a lucky guy who ends up in the worst situations. I like Dan Brown’s writing enough that when the last book came out I drove an hour and stood in line at least that long for a signed copy. 100% worth it. Cheers.

      4. Oh, that´s so cool – a signed copy! I would love to have one, too! But at least I bought the hard cover with beautiful illustrations:)
It must have been amazing to stand in front of such a personality, even if it is only for a few seconds or so. What did you think of “Inferno”? Cheers!

      5. I can imagine! I really envy you a bit;)
I thought the book was worth the long waiting too, beautifully written, as always and full of suspense. I hope there will be another Robert Langdon soon;)

      6. Me too…I’ll let you know if he does another local book signing and if I plan to attend. Last time, another friend abroad asked me to get a signed copy for her. I’m always willing as it gives me a few more seconds to chat with Dan Brown. Have a great weekend, Sarah…Cheers!

      7. Oh! That´s so sweet of you! I bet she was absolutely delighted! I would definitely be:) What did you chat about with him last time? I would blush and probably babble about how awesome he is…like everyone else I imagine;) But if I could buy you a few more seconds with him I would be happy to be of service;) Have a great weekend too! Cheers! 🙂

      8. Hi Sarah…I’ll keep that in mind if the opportunity arises again. Let’s hope =)
I just checked Dan Brown’s website and there is no mention of a new book.
I told him that a few months prior I had a very Robert Langdon like adventure researching my family history, that had me driving around Eastern Europe and culminating late at night in a church outside of Krakow as the parish priest translated my family’s history written in Latin in the church records. The difference between me and Robert Langdon being that A. nobody was trying to kill me and B. Robery Langdon can likely translate Latin on his own.
Mr Brown quipped back that I should write a story about this because as he put it “It’s been my experience that this is the type of thing that sells.”
        Cheers!

      9. Hi Chris – Wow! This is awesome! You´re right, it´s sounds definitely something Robert Langdon would do! (And I´m so relieved that nobody tried to kill you – there´s really no need for that particular “habbit” of his;) ) This trip must have been a wonderful experience! An aunt of mine once did some research on our family history as well and came up with the fact, that we´re descendants from french Huguenots who fled from France in the beginning of 1800, in the days of Napoleon. I think it is an amazing thing to gather information like that. And how terrific that Dan Brown actually wrote back to you! And I think he´s absolutely right! I personally love to read those kind of novels:) I already can picture in my head that scene with the priest translating for you – that must have been a little bit scary? I think you should definitely give it a try and write it down! Cheers! Sarah 🙂
P.S. By the way – I´ve learned latin at school, maybe I could be of service next time;)

      10. Thank you, Sarah. Wow, that is cool having family that fled from Napoleon.
Here is a link to a photo from that night at the church. https://flic.kr/p/ejGVJr
The man with the priest is Jan Panek, a local man who helped me with figuring out some things and who hosted me that evening.
Okay, you’re on. Next time, I have an adventure that involves Latin but NOT a threat to my life, I shall call you!
        Cheers!

      11. Yeah, isn´t it just?;) I´m very proud and thankful they survived! 🙂
Thank you for the link – I´m just enjoying scrolling through your Poland Album: fantastic pictures! I had no idea how beautiful it is there! And considering it actually is not very far from here, I think I´m planning to go there some day soon! It´s fantastic how much help and generosity you´ve encountered during your research.
Great! I´m looking forward to actually bring my latin to some use then;) Cheers!

      12. Poland is lovely. I spent a lot of time with a friend in Worclaw but got to visit Gdansk and Krakow…and I made side trips to Prague and Dresden. Dresden was OMG beautiful

      13. Just “flickered” through your Prague album – wonderfully dramatic night pictures, Chris! 🙂
Yes, Dresden is astonishingly beautiful. Did you know it´s also called “Elbflorenz”, which means “Florence on the Elbe” (that´s the river), based on it´s sights etc. ?
