Sepia Sunday – Glimpse

As I was crossing the Friedrichs Bridge to get to the Museum Island here in Berlin, I accidentally dropped something on the ground. Normally that´s nothing I would care telling you about, but this time, whilst retrieving my possession, I heard a honking tourist steamer coming nearer. So I crawled closer to one ofContinue reading “Sepia Sunday – Glimpse”

Sepia Sunday – The Grotto

I came across this magnificent artificial grotto while walking through the heritage protected “Immanuel Park” near the Lake “Kleiner Wannsee”. This park is part of the Immanuel Hospital and many patients use it early in the morning to do some exercises which is especially important with rheumatic diseases. Because it started to rain – andContinue reading “Sepia Sunday – The Grotto”

Sepia Sunday -Road Bridge

On my latest walk around my district I came across this beautiful road bridge made of steel elements. It was build in 1912 and stretches over one of the most traveled railways in Berlin, the Ringbahn (circular railways).   I approximately took over 30 pictures of it but found that only these three were worthContinue reading “Sepia Sunday -Road Bridge”

Sepia Sunday – At the lake

This sunday I want to share more pictures with you I made during my walk around the “Kleiner Wannsee” (Little Wannsee), the lake where I used to row when I was at high school. Hope you like them and wish you all a happy Sepia Sunday!! 🙂   I kind of fell in loveContinue reading “Sepia Sunday – At the lake”

Sepia Sunday – On the Edge

I found this tree while enjoying a walk along the “Kleiner Wannsee” (Little Wannsee – the word “see” means lake) that connects the “Großer Wannsee” (Big Wannsee) with the Pohlesee. It´s not far from the rowing club I´ve been a member of when I was at high school. We used to train here becauseContinue reading “Sepia Sunday – On the Edge”

Sepia Sunday – Along the Wall

This wall divides the former airport “Tempelhofer Feld” from an adjacent cemetery. I only made this shot because I heard a maintenance car coming from behind me and pressed myself to the wall in order to get out of its way. When it was gone, I thought what was in front of me lookedContinue reading “Sepia Sunday – Along the Wall”

Sepia Sunday – Come Fly With Me

… although I very much doubt that this particular aircraft will take off any time soon since its propellers have been removed. 😉 It´s one of several american transport aircrafts still hanging around the “Tempelhofer Feld”, a shutdown airport right in the middle of Berlin that´s now mainly used as a recreation park. ToContinue reading “Sepia Sunday – Come Fly With Me”

Sepia Sunday – Winged Bull

I can not count how many times I went by this church, but only now, that I´m discovering Berlin with my new camera, I noticed this little figure of a winged bull high up on one of the corners of the belltower. 🙂 Wish you all a wonderful (sepia) sunday!!
